Reflection on the author's story of a sacred place in "Landscapes of the Sacred"
The author states, "...problems [are] resolved through hours of sitting beside running water" (16). Belden Lane's experience of a sacred place is interesting because all it takes is one to decenter themselves and reflect more on God for a problem to be minimal or non existent. In fact, to relive stress or get away from the worldly ways, I find myself going somewhere else, may it be outside, or reading the Bible. I believe that a problem is never as big as I make it, it's just the only thing on my mind, so taking an action to get away from it makes the problem smaller.
