Roberts Prisoners of Our Thoughts
Outside reading.
I recently read a book called Prisoners of Our Thoughts. This book is about a Jew that was held captive in a Nazi concentration camp. Frankl, the characters point of view from which the book is written, has to find reason to live in these awful circumstances. He states that you must find something greater to want in order to find the will to live. This book was really touching because even in the worst place anyone could imagine, he still found something to believe in. Compared to sacred communications, it reaches to a higher power to find mercy and answers. In sacred comm, we talked about how people practice religions and look up to their higher power, God. It makes one have a different outlook on life by stating that it may be awful right now but the future won't be this bad if you don't give up and pray to the higher power. So, why would one feel the urge to give up? Because they don't like the situation they are in? There is always another way to find answers, so don't give up. Go and find the answer.
