Allen Natural Setting

Walking the Nolan Trail with the class reminded me that beauty is everywhere. I grew up on a farm sorrounded by nature, so to me the Nolan seemed very man-made. I could not get passed the trail itself, it was defined with boards and spray paint along with trees damaged by humans which kept me from entering a stage of peace. Once I spoke with Dr. Redick he told me to focus on the trees themself. What are they saying? When observing the trees I noticed that they were almost screaming for help but also flourishing. The trees that were screaming for help were the ones damaged by the pollution of humans or acts of nature. The pollution from humans can stunt the growth of tress or even cause them to live a short life. Acts of Nature, such as hurricanes, can cause the same outcomes but because of different circumstances. Hurricanes cause tress to break-off or even uproot, but overall they are benefiting other wildlife. An uprooted tree can create a den for animals, and tree limbs can create over for smaller animals to hide from predators. It is important to be reminded of the environmental footprint we leave because the wild is not just for us to visit and enjoy, it is a home for many different species.
