Ian Fein Landscapes of the Sacred #2
When reading Landscapes of the Sacred, I became encapsulated with the quote "the sacred place becomes the point at which the wondrous power of the divine could be seen breaking into the world's alleged ordinariness" thinking back to the time I went on a Mission trip to the Dominican Republic. I remembered how at points during the trip I was able to feel the presence of something divine working in the community around me. Instead of seeing the DR as a lowly third world country, I began to see the DR as sacred, viewing its inner beauty. Even though before the trip, I thought of the DR as maybe a little less than ordinary, following the trip I began to not limit the power of the divine as I realize the power of something other is not subject to made up borders of human thought.
