Landscapes of the Sacred
In The Landscapes of the Sacred discusses four axioms that are intended to guide humans in their spiritual journeys in life. Lane says that sacred places are not chosen, they choose. I have realized that my trails nearby have become very sacred to me in a sense that I was called there. He states that sacred places are ordinary and made extraordinary. I discovered this axiom when I watched the church by my house be built into a plain building and then later on made very spiritual filled with people. Another axiom Lane talks about entails sacred places being tied upon without being entered. The light from the sun can shine down on a magnificent tree and create spiritual feelings in a human. Lane says the impulse of sacred place is both centripetal and centrifugal local and universal. God can be found anywhere and everywhere. I find God in nature often.
