Majority of hikers recorded spending between 1-2 thousand dollars on gear for the hike and between 5-6 thousand on gear and food during. So in addition to those costs there is the cost of not working for that period of time. This shows a total removal of monetary attachment with the hiker. They fully know and are comfortable in the palm of His hand
