Personal account of nature - Christina Lobosco
Being home for Thanksgiving break came with many excitements. I was able to see my family and reunite with my friends that I haven’t seen since I left for college. I was so excited to finally revert back to old times with my friends and continue to make memories. Throughout high school, we spent many days at the local park in Richmond. This estate is called Maymont and is 100 acres of open land, a natural waterfall, and wild animals. Maymont also has a plethora of animals in and out of the petting zoo.
After taking this class and acknowledging the nature aspect of the world I was able to go to Maymont over break and appreciate the beauty around me. My friends and I spent an entire day playing sports in the Maymont estate and taking pictures of the fall colored leaves. Normally, I wasn’t focussed on nature, but I always was able to look around and appreciate the natural beauty. Since this class, I have been able to see nature in everything I do. Even though I was spending time with friends, my mind automatically went to the beauty of the park
This was only one of the many examples where I now acknowledge the simple joys of the world. I am appreciative for this class because it sparked an awareness that I never knew I had. Without this acknowledgment, I would not have been able to uncover this interest and beauty towards the world.
