Phenomenology of Prayer #2- Kenosis

Prayer as Kenosis is the concept of self-emptying. Honest and truthful prayer is releasing all to God. This can be a process of renewal and becoming closer to enlightenment. Kenosis is a very intentional and purposeful form of prayer. The actual dictionary definition of Kenosis is (in Christian theology) the renunciation of the divine nature, at least in part, by Christ in the Incarnation.
This continues to relate to the section on de-centered self. Confessing all to God, is eliminating the room to be self centered. Only when one gives themselves up entirely can they connect with the divine.
