Swanson Pacific Crest Trail

[Personal Choice]
In class today watched a documentary on hiking the Pacific Crest Trail. In this documentary, hikers expressed their purpose for hiking the trail, thoughts while on the trail, and interaction with other hikers. On of the hikers said that hiking the PCT was one of the things he needed to do before he reached the age of 65. In spirit of this, I also made a list of 10 things I needed to do before I turn 65, the list is as follows:

-Thru-hike the AT
-Earn a Ph.D.
-Have a family of my own
-Travel to India
-Take a leap of faith
-Become a professor
-Thru-hike the Pacific Crest Trail
-See the Northern Lights
-Write a novel series
-Spend time serving others

Some aspects of my list relate to our class, but others are personal goals and desires. It's good to have goals, in order to remember what matters to you, and seek personal joy. It seems all of the hikers of the PCT learn more about themselves and remember things they've long forgotten. Even if you hike it alone, you still become a part of a larger community and find relations with other, while uncovering your true self.
