Helmer Gravity and the Pull of Christ - my choice
As I read through the story "Gravity and the Pull of Christ", it was really relatable in the whole story they were telling. Throughout my life, growing up I used to go to church every week. Once I began playing softball we never really went anymore and I didn't realize how much of an effect it had on my life. I never really even thought about God anymore because I always seemed to have my mind in another place. The article explained how a boy who was christian raised and a churchgoer for much of his early life, lost the feeling through God, and never really gained it back until college. Why would he go to church three times a week as a kid and then never go anymore? Sometimes we don't understand how much we actually need God in our lives, and the same situation happened to me recently when coming to college. Being in this class and having the opportunity to attend a bible study with my team every week has helped me get through things I don't think I could have before. The feeling I get now when being in the realm of God and speaking his word through my teammates is a truly emptying feeling and I believe it is something I really needed to find in my life. Being able to get away from everything going on in the world and be in a time only with God is an amazing feeling that I hope to only grow throughout the rest of my life. We need to be able to find God in all ways and let him be the one to guide us through life.
