In the openings of the chapter, the term liminality is defined and in the book it quotes "It has become clear to us that liminality is not only transition but also potentiality, not only "going to be" but also "what may be", a day to day operation of social structures." The beauty of transition in life is that it helps you build a better foundation for yourself. Change is necessary, and in this case the transition is looking into the future.
