Lett-Image and Pilgrimage in Christian Culture- #2

Idolatry and Iconography in my opinion is a distraction when it comes to prayer. Pilgrims traveled to all sorts of historical sites in hopes of finding divinity within places where historic moments took place. The stories that come with these ancient sites deal with beliefs that they can heal people or simply that they have such a sacred aurora around them. When it comes to sacred place, the event that occured on the land prior does not always make the land sacred. It appears Pilgrims were searching for divinity in these places when they could find sacred place around them in God's own creation.
