Lett- The Phenomenology of Prayer- Chapter 3
Prayer is a way for us to connect in the world with others. Prayer has a whole is a passionate experience. Through prayer we are able to become one with God and one another. Praying can be complex to some from the outside, but the ideal goal of prayer is to practice what you pray. Prayer provides and leads people to a more compassionate, faithful, and responsible life full of purpose. "Prayer belongs to the life of the heart, to the life of passions and the sufferings and joys of mood and emotion." The passionate experience that comes along with prayer should not go without practice. As a believer we are called upon to act on our prayers. God tells us that prayer without action is dead, so we must be the driving influence behind what we pray for.
